Upper Mustang Trek is one of the outstanding and adventure, unique and rare places for trekking. Its beauty with Kaligandaki valley is a single piece in the world. So thousand of tourist from Nepal and different part of world came to visit Mustang with a lot of enthusiasm. Mustang region is composed of lower and upper mustang. Mustang valley of Nepal was once isolated and independent kingdom of Tibet. The lower and upper region of mustang offers different attraction for the visitors, in terms of accessibility, landscape, culture, and custom. Lower mustang is visited at any time of the year and best is the autumn season (March-May) and from September- November. As mustang lies in the north of the Himalayan it does not experience the monsoon. But due to high altitude, the temperature stays cooler at this time. Winter is difficult to visit due to the extreme cold.

An amazing geological feature of this region is the abundance of Jurassic era fossils that can be found lying around. The Red Houses lodge in Kagebani is in the process of turning its public area into a museum, which will display some impressive local objects. Muktinath temple is holy site of both Hindu and Buddhists which is located at 3850 m. It is possible to trek there and back from Kagbeni in 1 day. Marpha village is also man attraction of mustang where we can taste apple as mustang is famous for apple cultivation. Trek to upper mustang is a rare privilege.

We can experience a way of life of true mountain people who had very little contact with the rest of Nepal and maintain their cultural heritage. It is a similar trek into upper mustang is similar to trekking in Tibetan Geography. Upper mustang trekking started to trekkers only thirty years ago and even access to it is highly restricted. To enter Upper Mustang that is to travel trekking permit must be verified by Government of Nepal. During in monsoon season, the upper Kali Gandaki valley is still quite dry with occasional rainfall. It is not too difficult regarding its altitude of 3800m but it is cold in winter and always windy and dusty through the year which is its unique feature. Due to its uniqueness and magical scenery flow of tourist seen over there every year.
